Fog city — A Short independent film

Fog City is an NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate thesis film, written and directed by Liam Brady. Shot in San Francisco over 12 days, it tells the story of an amateur ballplayer whose unsettling discovery on a foggy morning at Ocean Beach sets off a search for the truth — and forces him to confront his own hidden past.

My Role:
I produced the film from fundraising through festival submissions, raising $46K across three crowdfunding campaigns and securing a $10K Spike Lee grant. I organized casting, permits, and logistics, led a 20+ person crew and 15 actors on set, and oversaw post-production and festival submissions. Fog City was featured on IndieWire and accepted into four film festivals.

Shots from the set

Filming Fog City was a 12-day whirlwind—equal parts magical and challenging. Our baseball field location was so sandy and dusty that it clogged the fan of our Red Epic camera on day one, forcing us to replace the entire camera and push production a full day.

On Ocean Beach, we braved San Francisco’s icy summer winds to capture the fog that gives the film its name—bundled in layers, fingers numb, shooting late into the night. Despite the obstacles, the process was humbling and beautiful, and every setback only deepened our pride in what we created.

Post Production & Festivals

After months of editing and sound design, Fog City premiered at four independent film festivals across the country, giving us the chance to share our work and connect with fellow filmmakers. Most memorably, we hosted a screening at the historic Roxie Theater in San Francisco. Given a 90-minute block, I curated an evening called A Love Letter to San Francisco, showcasing local films alongside Fog City.

The program included the first public screening of the concept trailer for The Last Black Man in San Francisco—an event that became a catalyst for its eventual funding and production. It was a true celebration of community, creativity, and the city we love.
